Shop Desk is software an independent auto repair shop uses to run itself. It holds two kinds of information: records about the shop’s own staff, and records about the shop’s customers and their vehicles.
Card numbers. Payments are handled by Authorize.net, and the card is turned into a one-time token in the customer’s own browser before anything reaches this system. Shop Desk never sees, stores or logs a card number.
Each shop can only ever read its own records; that boundary is enforced by the database itself rather than by the screens. Within a shop, a technician sees only the jobs they are assigned to and the customers on those jobs. Leads, the full customer list and other people’s pay are not visible to them.
A customer with a link to their own vehicle’s page sees that vehicle and nothing else.
Only the services needed to do the work:
Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared with advertisers.
Anybody with a login can delete it from Settings inside the app. That removes the login and the personal details on the profile.
It does not remove the work. Jobs, hours, invoices and photographs stay as the shop’s business records, which a repair shop is required to keep. They are no longer linked to a person who can sign in.
If you are a customer of the shop and want your records removed or corrected, ask the shop directly — they hold them and they decide. Supercanic can be reached at hemetmechanic.com.
Messages are only ever sent to a number already on a customer’s record, and only when somebody at the shop sends one. Replying STOP to any message ends them.
